Banstead funnyman David Walliams and supermodel wife Lara Stone have welcomed a baby boy.

Walliams grew up in Banstead and his mother Kathleen Williams has been a brown owl in the Girlguiding Banstead District for more than 20 years.

It was revealed that the couple welcomed their first child on Sunday, May 5, after model Teresa Baca, who is signed to the same label as Stone, tweeted her congratulations.

She wrote: "Congratulations to Lara Stone and David Walliams who had a baby boy yesterday regram mertalas (sic)."

However, Lara and David have yet to confirm the news.

David announced his wife's pregnancy on his Twitter page last year, writing: "Some wonderful news. My beautiful wife Lara is pregnant. We are having a baby! It is due next year and we both couldn't be happier. Dx (sic)"

David, 41, and 29-year-old Lara started dating in September 2009 and got married in May 2010.

Last year, Lara revealed she and her husband had been preparing for parenthood by caring for their pet dog Bert.

Speaking about their beloved mutt, she jokingly said: "We love him. A baby will probably never be as fun as Bert."
